Call For Articles

As a Majority World scholar, you can make unique contributions to knowledge about theological education and how the seminary addresses issues in the church and society. We believe that God has given you wisdom that you can share with others.

In light of that, the InSights Journal invites you to contribute articles on topics related to the following themes. This list of themes is certainly not exhaustive, but we hope that it may inspire reflections grounded in specific contexts and situations. You can submit your abstract on our Submissions page.

Possible topics:

  • Faculty development: How do seminaries develop communities of learning within their faculty? How do faculty mentor one another? How do schools recruit and train faculty? How do schools manage sabbaticals?
  • Mission development: How can seminaries successfully grow beyond Western missionary models? How might seminaries transform after Westerners give leadership to nationals? How do schools’ missions to train pastors intersect with societal questions?
  • Partnership development: How do seminaries engage local and/or global partners – churches, NGOs, major donors, etc.? How can those partnerships be beneficial and/or harmful? What do seminaries need to know to navigate partnerships?
  • Prophetic voice: What specific problems or issues exist in the church and/or society in which your school is located? How are aspects of the school – curricula, informal programs, community or church engagements, etc. – addressing those issues? How are faculty in particular addressing those issues, perhaps through publications or talks?
